Anki won't sync

My anki will not sync. Every time I open anki, a message pops up saying that anki cannot sync because my email is not confirmed, and that I need to go to ankiweb website to confirm my email. I went to the website and was required to make an account, which I did. I do not see a way to confirm my email though after having done that. The message continues to pop up when I try to sync my anki. Please help.

Have you looked into your spam folder for the mail?

There is not an email in my spam about this issue

If you created an account after receiving that message, it indicates that you were syncing with a different email account, and you now have two AnkiWeb accounts. If you’ve changed email addresses in the past, try logging in with your old email.
