Anki is so slow all of the sudden without me doing anything 2.1.49

I noticed a pattern here, when I start my computer first thing in the morning, anki will be very slow when I start it up. The audio is delayed, and the cards are lagging, like the showing of answers are delayed, the audio won’t play immediately. I can see my mouse cursor loading when this happens. If I leave Anki on for a couple of hours however, this problem disappears. Why is this happening? This is the 3rd day already. :frowning:

I already disabled the add ons too and upgraded to the latest version only to get disappointed leading to reverting back to this version again.

Had this problem in a public uni pc (wasn’t updated for years), everything was like slow at start, the task manager showed that the disk was using 100% and causing all the slowness, but after some hours it would go back to normal

Can you open the task manager to see how your pc behaves when starting the computer
crtl+alt+Delete
Task Manager
while you are it, see if there isn’t any antivirus or any other heavy app running in the background and disable it

If this problem is only affecting anki, disable all the add-ons, then open the command line and run the following command to start anki
cd \program files\anki & anki-console
