Anki does not warn me if no cloze deletions are added

Hello,
lately my Anki has not been working well. Namely, there’s no pop-up to warn me if there are no cloze deletions when adding a cloze-type note. It also does not warn me if I do add cloze deletions in a non cloze-type note.
The problem persists even if I start Anki by clicking shift, disabling all of my addons.
Has anyone an idea on what might be the cause?
I attached my debug info in case that might be useful.

What did you do lately that might have caused this? 2.1.22 is a pretty old version. Consider updating to the latest Anki version (2.1.49) to see if this fixes your issue.

I don’t know why this would happen on 2.1.22, but this will become the norm soon, because the cloze button will only show on cloze-notetypes anyway (no button → no shortcut either). Yes, that’s true, 2.1.22 is quite an old version. I keep using it because some addons still have not been updated (and unfortunately they probably never will).
I happen to also have 2.1.33 installed: with that version the pop-up notifications work perfectly.
Unfortunately I did not notice the problem at first, so it is difficult to trace back what might have gone wrong. Anyway, I do not recall having done anything peculiar.

Wow, that is really nice.
Maybe this is not the right place to make such a suggestion, but I would still keep some sort of check/notification. Something like: “this is not a cloze-type addon, but it contains cloze deletions. Would you still like to proceed?” on clicking the add button. Just in case something goes wrong (e.g. some cloze deletions have been added manually, or the note type is changed before adding the note).

Also: when clicking the cloze-shortcut in a non-cloze type note, in addition to the cloze deletion not being added, I would still flash a pop-up notification. Just to inform the user that everything is working ok, that no bug is happening, and to instruct them that they should change the note type if they want to add clozes

On the current dev build, this warning will automatically show once you use cloze syntax on a non-cloze note type, so your wish will actually come true :slight_smile:
