Hi, After the latest update, my Anki keeps crashing. I do not have any addons. It happens, for example, if I unplug/plug my monitor.
I am not sure the reason or if there is any easy fix.
Thanks,

Could you please provide more details about your setup (Anki version, operating system)?
Hi sorry, this is on Ventura 13.4 on Macbook Apple silicon version. The Anki version:
Version 2.1.65
Python 3.9.15 Qt 6.5.0 PyQt 6.5.0.
This started after the latest update.
The problem is quite reproducible. I unplug my HDMI cable for my monitor and Anki crashes. I reconnect, crashes again. I performed resetting window sizes as suggested in other forum posts, it did not solve it. It seems quite persistent.
As a temporary solution, I’m looking for a way to downgrade Anki (hopefully not losing cards etc.)
Downgrading is quite easy:
Unfortunately, the graphics toolkit Anki’s built on seems to have a few monitor-related issues. If your issue started recently, switching to the Qt5 version will likely work around it for now, and it looks like they may have fixed this in the 6.5.1 update (QTBUG-110898 edit: that was a similar issue, but appears to be limited to Linux.)
Thank you! It has started with the last update – though I am not sure which version I was using before (I updated because Anki kept asking me to - as there was new version available so I assume I was using just the prev. version)
Mind my ignorance, but what do you mean by “switching to the Qt5 version”. You mean downgrading Anki? Thanks
He means the latest Anki version, but the version that is not built with the version 6 of the Qt software framework, but version 5: https://github.com/ankitects/anki/releases/download/2.1.65/anki-2.1.65-mac-intel-qt5.dmg
