Anki Desktop and Anki Web not syncing

I’ve only had anki a few months.

I have a deck on anki web that is perfectly synced with my anki droid account. But depending on where I am, I like to study my decks on both my phone and my desktop so I want them all to be synced obviously - but my anki deskstop does not sync. To my understanding, the sync has to come from either anki desktop or anki droid. On anki droid I sync it to anki web and when I check anki web online, I see it updated. But when I sync from anki desktop, it says “collection sync complete” but when I check anki web, it is NOT updated/synced. I truly do not understand why. I downloaded the anki desktop app directly from the anki website so it’s the most up to date as well. The same email is used - but I couldn’t even check if I wanted to because on anki desktop there is no tab for account or settings.

On the desktop Anki app, you can see what account is being used, from the Tools menu on Windows/Linux or the Anki menu on a Mac:
Preferences → Syncing → AnkiWeb Account

Yes, you’re syncing your devices with different AnkiWeb accounts, so each device has a completely separate collection. You should merge those into one account, but you’ll need to be careful to make sure you don’t lose data in either one – Syncing with AnkiWeb - Anki Manual .

When you’re done, to avoid this confusion in the future, you should remove the unneeded account – https://ankiweb.net/account/settings – and make sure your web browsers aren’t saving credentials for the deleted account.

I see no anki menu, I see only these tabs: Decks, Add, Browse, Stats, Sync

Look at the menu bar for the window – above those buttons, or on macOS you might have it set to display at the top of your screen. Preferences - Anki Manual

Ah I see I’m not used to Mac so I didn’t see that - thanks !
