accidentally uploaded instead of downloading after a OS install , is there anyway to recover from online backup. all of my progress is lost.
Have you checked for local backups?
i installed it on a new computer so no local backups
What about your previous device then?
I don’t have the old device with me.
- Did you sync your collection to any other devices (like a mobile app)?
- Is your prior Anki2 data directory (which includes your database, backups, and media, see Managing Files - Anki Manual) deleted or corrupted? Or just temporarily out of reach (“I don’t have the old device with me”)?
- Was that Anki2 directory backed up anywhere else before that?
- When was the last time you synced with AnkiWeb before this?
1.no
2.not corruput but i accidentally uploaded a non-progress version of my decks
3. cloud(ankiweb)
4. daily for the last 3 months.
- I meant the collection that was on your old device. If there’s nothing wrong with it, then that would be the fastest to restore from.
- I mean the folder from your computer. Some folks have their important data backed up – especially when they are moving to a new computer.
It sounds like a server-side backup might be your only option. When @dae is able to check on that, he’ll let you know if one is available and what date it’s from.
Okay, thank you for your assistance. When might @dae check that?
You can go 1 or 2 weeks back. What would you like?
1 week back
I’ve restored your collection. Please choose Download on the next sync.
thank you for your help.
