I’ve been learning Norwegian and adding audio to a card kept taking longer
than making the card — find a clip, download, rename, drop it in
collection.media, type the [sound:] tag.
So I wrote an add-on. Right-click text in the editor → Add Audio → pick a
language and voice → it generates the file and drops it in whichever field you
choose. There’s also a bulk mode under Tools that does an entire deck at once,
which is the part I use most; I had a few hundred existing cards with no audio.
53 languages, 30 voices (Google Chirp 3 HD).

On pricing, since I’d rather say it here than have someone find out after
installing: €3.99/month for 100,000 characters. The add-on itself is free and
open source, but the audio runs through a hosted backend that costs me money
per request. Same arrangement HyperTTS uses. 14-day refund if it’s not for you.
