Thank you very much, this worked.
Rosetta is a software that enables software for Intel Macs to be run on Apple Silicon Macs. If youâre using an Intel Mac, you can already run software for Intel Macs without additional tools. (And in fact, there is no way to install Rosetta on an Intel Mac.) In any case, Anki can run on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs natively, so there is no need to use Rosetta even if you have an Apple Silicon Mac. I was using Rosetta by mistake, and just shared how I fixed it in my case. If you are using an Intel Mac, this cannot happen to you and Rosetta has no influence whatsoever on whether Anki runs on your Mac or not.
Which means your issue is with something else. Of course you can keep using the slightly older version indefinitely, this is totally fine. If you ever want to update and tackle the issue youâre having, please post more details on what exactly goes wrong in your case. For example, you could try the troubleshooting steps from the Anki Manual (linked above) to start with and tell us how that goes.
I just got a new macbook air 2025 and the anki app wonât open. I click on the icon thatâs even on my desktop and nothing happens, it just jumps but wonât open or even get a pop up message about the error. I already tried downloading the app again, but the same problem persists. Please help
Hi, I just wanted to say thank you! I had a similar problem and none of the things above worked for me but your version did the trick for me and now I can go back to studying. Thank you so much!
