I think that if the technical burden were low, it might be desirable not to show the “Toggle Masks” button when the card is a Hide One, Guess One type card, because there is no mask to toggle and there is no role for this button in the card (if I understand correctly).

Regarding the changelog topic: out of curiosity, how long does it take you to translate all of the technical coding stuff to the human-readable changelog?

A while, but I think some people appreciate seeing what has changed. I omit most
trivial changes and changes that are only of interest to developers of Anki.

Also, you have the changelog on GitHub and on Ankiweb.

I copy from one to the other, as I’d like a backup in case anything ever happens to GitHub, and AFAIK GitHub can be harder to access from some countries.

In the note type’s field editor, there is a checkbox “Exclude from unqualified searches (slower)”. If I didn’t know what “unqualified searches” meant, I would have thought checking that box would make something slower.

If you use that option, searching gets slower for each field you exclude.

23.10 is considerably slower with some built in TTS voices

Actually I think it’s all audio. Please let me know if rc2 hasn’t fixed it.
