Anki 2.1.65 / Mac: Strange formatting issue with default cloze card template

Hi everyone,

I have got a strange formatting issue using

Version ⁨2.1.65 (aa9a734f)⁩
Python 3.9.15 Qt 5.14.2 PyQt 5.14.1

and the default cloze template that came with the Anki installation. I have two clozes on my note:

01_note

The formatting of both the front side and back side of both clozes seems to be completely (?) erratic. I broke that down to just using the default template, while I was trying to make a more fancy formatting for my own cloze cards and failed.

02_cloze1_front
03_cloze1_back
04_cloze2_front
05_cloze2_back

Hint for dae: Note ID is 1691651705115 on my uploaded deck.

Thank you very much in advance for any input.

Regards
SparQL

Your cloze deletion has HTML embedded in it, which will cause problems:

xxx {{c1::Fact A1<b><span style="font-weight: 400;">::Hint A1</span></b>}} xxx<br>xxxx {{c2::Fact A2<b><span style="font-weight: 400;">::Hint A2</span></b>}} xxx

If you select the text and use the eraser icon to remove the formatting, it should display correctly.

Thank you so much for your help, Damien. :+1:
That solved my problem and now that I know what caused it, I can go ahead and correct about 200 other notes that are affected and that I created the same way, albeit the HTML crept in there unintentionally.
Was scratching my head for hours and hours but didn’t find nothing myself.
