A new beta is now available. 2.1.30 will primarily be a bugfix release, so this beta should be pretty stable.

Beta 2 is now available.

Damien, I am having problems with this version Beta 2 (2.1.30) for windows. After installing, I got the message “Failed to execute script runanki”. I’ve searched other topics in this forum and in tenderapp regarding this issue, checked my windows update and installed the last updates, restarted windows, but it didn’t work.

The problem does not happen if I reinstall Beta 1, or when I use Anki 2.1.26 (that I still run in my machine).

Thanks

What does it say in the console?

Beta 2 doesn’t work for me too and with the same message “Failed to execute script runanki”.

I updated Windows 10 yesterday too, got a blank screen instead of the Windows Explorer, but restarting in safe mode, uninstalling monitor and video drivers and reinstalling Intel HD Graphics drivers, something fixed it, but Anki 2.1.29 was still working fine for me.

Beta1, both standard and alternate, works for me.

Beta2 standard doesn’t work if I click anki.exe (“Failed to execute script runanki”), but it works if I click anki-console.exe. I compared the output from anki-console.exe with Anki 2.1.29, but there’s no difference.

Beta2 alternate doesn’t work at all. If I run anki-console.exe from cmd, it shows this error message.

Thanks for the reports, I’ve repackaged the Windows version - please let me know how it goes for you.

They both work for me, the standard version and the alternate version.

Windows standard works for me on both, beta 1 and 2.
I noticed that the stats window is no more zoomable with CTRL+mousewheel, which is only a minor issue though, as the initial size of the stats is not that large anymore.
Edit: Same goes for the editor webview. Could we get that back, it was very convenient

That’s a result of rolling back to an earlier Qt I believe. They plan to have a bugfix out this month, but time will tell whether it’s an improvement over the current version we’re using.

Beta 3 is now available. If no issues are found in a day or two, it will be released without changes as 2.1.30 stable. I’d appreciate it if Windows and Mac standard build users could confirm it’s working correctly for them.

I have checked them both on my laptop and MacBook and for me, all seem to work fine.
It is the first version since 2.1.26 with sync (on both devices) in both directions without forcing me to perform a full sync. I checked regular not alternative versions.

One thing that I noticed is when I studied a few cards on windows and sync and then on my iOS app, I didn’t get a sync necessity indicator - the button was blue. I pressed it and all was synced.

Working on Windows 10 64 bits.

Thanks all. 2.1.30 stable is out. It contains a fix for a fairly uncommon issue in the DB check - so if you’re already on beta 3, there’s no pressing need to update. If you encounter any further issues before the next beta release, please post them in the desktop section.
