I’m using Anki to learn new words.

I’ve read the manual and I don’t get why the interval for mature cards increases so fast, the lowest possible ease is 130% but that seems still too high (to be considered the minimum), I can’t decrease the interval without pressing again.

The starting ease of 250% seems really a lot to me, also why is the default hard interval 1.2? I want both the interval and the ease to decrease not just the ease when I press it.

Should I use FSRS and don’t worry about anything of this?

Go ahead. Make sure to optimise (and grade cards honestly).
