I have been attempting to add a number of add-ons to my Anki, but when I go to [Tools>Add-ons>Get add-ons] and enter any code to add it, I receive the following message:
“1666520655: Invalid Code, or Add-on not available for your version of Anki”
Please note I have a completely new, up to date version of Anki. I am also sure that all of the add-ons I am attempting to add are up to date and work with the newest version. I have tried the typical ‘restarting’ of the program, computer, and re-installation of the app. It doesn’t seem to make a difference at all.
I just installed 2.1.22, but with this particular version I can’t even seem to launch the app properly for some unknown reason. It tells me something along the lines of: Anki was unable to open your collection file. If problems persist after restarting your computer, please use the Open Backup button in the profile manager. Debug info: Traceback… etc. etc. etc.
anyways, re-install the newer version that you had previously installed. then go to “File -> Switch Profile” and press “Downgrade and quit”
then install the older 2.1.22 version, you should be able to open anki and use 2.1.22
Update: I entered a profile name and it essentially fixed itself. I am not clear on how exactly, but the add-on installer seems to be working now. I’m assuming it will now work with the other add-ons.
You’re welcome
the add-on installer was working properly all along. you just probably didn’t have the compatible version of anki.
and about the add-ons: add-on compatibility isn’t a universal thing. each add-on might support one version of anki and not the newer/older version. you should check the add-on page for each add-on to check if they’re compatible with your version of anki.
