This is a very basic question. I intend to keep improving and updating a deck I’ve created and shared. How do users of my deck obtain the latest version? Must they delete the current deck before downloading the revised version?
They will have to check for an update themselves (so it would be good to make clear on the page the dates when you’ve released new versions, or even incorporate release-date/versioning into an extra note).
No, they won’t need to (and shouldn’t!) delete the deck they are using. That would delete all of their review history/progress with it. As long as you’re paying attention to what it takes to preserve things for updating, they should be fine just importing the updated deck to their collection. Packaged Decks - Anki Manual
