Thinking if MCP server could work with anki connect? thx

hi,

the MCP server seems to be something that wrap a program’s API for the LLMs to access.

i.e.

anki <— anki connect <— MCP server <— LLMs e.g. claude desktop

even a layman could ask the LLMs to write the MCP server on its own.

i expect it will work like:

to claude:
write me several anki QnA cards, with topic on mgt of asthma. add tags appropriately*

*appropriately i think one have to define his/her own routines beforehand.

to me it seems it’s just several clicks away and not worth to investigate the time into it.

any comments from the fellows?

ps: yeah this is exactly an anki addon, but it work … only with anki thru the anki connect addon.

i have had experience to send some text thru python to the anki connect addon.

ps: i did search in this forum before, however,
that author prefer to show it in github but not here.

wow, i found SEVERAL, 2 anki mcp and 1 ankiconnect mcp.
however, some are read only. not fully implemented.
