The desktop Anki app can't launch

Hello, I’m unable to use the desktop Anki app.
After completing the installation of the desktop Anki app, I double-click the app icon and see a command window with the information as below.

Anki Launcher

  1. Latest Anki (press Enter)

  2. Choose a version

  3. Allow betas: off

  4. Cache downloads: on

  5. Uninstall

How can I properly launch the desktop Anki app?

Just press Enter when you see this command window to choose the latest Anki.

Just what I predicted: when a regular user sees a terminal prompt, they suddenly get unable to act. I don’t mean to belittle anyone, but that’s just how it is. Hopefully we can get a simple GUI with buttons to press.

Does the internet work and is connected on the computer that you’re trying to run Anki on? It seems like the launcher is trying to download required Anki files but fails.

Anyone know how to increase the timeout? currently the concurrent downloads is a nightmare on slow internet speeds.

You can set the env var UV_HTTP_TIMEOUT=180. The 25.07.4 launcher update will do this automatically.
