Source Siblings Bury Cousins addon (support thread)

The more I use the add-on, the more I wished it could be run on Ankidroid as well. Ankidroid supposedly supports API. Could this mean an android version of the add-on can be made for Ankidroid?

Hi @addons_zz, as of currently, N can be thought of as being N=1 but here is a question:

Among cards of a sibling or source group, if a given card (or cards, provided N>1) has recently been relearnt and is expected to be reviewed the following day (or in the much nearer future), can that card(s) be given preference over the others? Preference in the sense that, that card(s) is selected to stay for review whilst the others get dispersed.

Is it possible to have a note be part of two separate cousin groups? For example, if I have a note X, I want it to be a cousin with note A as well as note B, but I do not want note A and note B to be cousins.

Example use cases in language learning: Compound words being siblings with their component words; Sentences with being siblings with the contained words.

Hi @menturi. As of now, it is impossible to have X siblings with A and B, while A and B are not siblings. But you can use:

  1. Card X
    • Question compond-word
    • Source card_x_a_b
    • Sibling `` ← leave empty
  2. Card A
    • Question compond
    • Source card_x_a_b
    • Sibling card_a_b
  3. Card B
    • Question word
    • Source card_x_a_b
    • Sibling card_a_b

While cards A and B are “bury” Siblings (up to 7 days), Card X is only “bury” Source with card A and B. So, cards A, B and X are Source “bury” (only 1 day). This way, Cards A, B, and X always have 1-day spacing while Cards A and B have up to 7 days spacing.

Hi! I was wondering if the add-on is being actively worked on. I’m having some issues with it where it doesn’t seem to bury all the source/sibling cards (I’ve double-checked that the field has the correct name and the cards in question have the same content in that field). I could provide screenshots if needed. I’m just really puzzled because some things are being buried, but others are not.

Hi. What anki version are you using? There is some time I do not update anki.

Can you run the bury command before starting studying, and check in the browser window before studying which are being buried and which are not?

Did you check in the code view (Ctrl+Shift+x) of your cards whether any of your fields contain the HTML entity as `& nbsp ;`?

I’m running Anki version ⁨25.02.5 (29192d15)⁩. After running the addon, it buried 97 cards.

However, it didn’t bury some sibling cards. Here’s an example I stumbled upon within the first five minutes of studying: both new cards with the same sibling field (I checked that there are no spaces after the number). I also checked the HTML fields and I didn’t see any ‘& nbsp ;‘.
