After loading Sequoia 25 on my Mac, the command {{tts zh_CN:Name of field}} now reads in a distorted/mechanical voice. There is no distortion when accessing my cards on my iphone.
Any suggestions?

Start by checking the list of TTS voices you have available on your system – Field Replacements - Anki Manual . Add {{tts-voices:}}
to a card template and check the preview.
Hi Danika
Thanks very much for your reply.
When I put {{tts-voices:}} into my card, it came up with a long list of voices. Because I wanted Chinese, I picked {{tts zh_CN voices=Apple_Rocko_(Chinese_(China_mainland))}} and then tried to add the field name (in this case ‘Character’) so the command became
{{tts zh_CN voices=Apple_Rocko_(Chinese_(China_mainland)):Character}}
but unfortunately it didn’t work.
Any other suggestions.
Stephen
I seem to have fixed the problem by using Awesome TTS.
I added the form {{tts zh_CN voices=AwesomeTTS:FIELD NAME}} to my cards.
Thus, for the field ‘Character’, the code is to speak in Chinese is:
{{tts zh_CN voices=AwesomeTTS:Character}}
