I have an error every time I try to look at the back of a card in the anki desktop card editor – in either of the 70 verbs decks.
It tells me to run check databse, which of course does nothing. I think I have the right voices installed in Windows.
The cards seem to work OK in Ankidroid.

I’m running

I have no plugins enabled…

I’m currently looking for what’s causing this issue. It doesn’t seem to be the installed voices because if you don’t have the voices installed, Anki normally just shows a small pop-up saying “no players found for TTSTag…”

-Do you have any other decks where TTS is working?
-Is it only when viewing cards in the editor or when reviewing cards as well?
-Is your Windows up to date?

Dell says that my PC is up to date. The failure occurs both when reviewing and when trying to look at cards in the editor. The failure happens every time I try to call tts in any deck, which suggests that it is not a unique problem with the shared deck as I first thought.
Let me look at my python version and other stuff…

Ok, I’m partly relieved it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the deck. I’ve just updated Anki to 2.1.44 to see if there’s a problem with the new release, but no. If you find out what the problem is, I’d be curious to hear what it was. I’ve posted this question in a few other places and I’ll let you know if and when I get a helpful response.

As a final option, if you can’t find the root of the problem, one should consider reporting this on Anki’s Github page.

Just a minor headsup: I noticed that the Subjonctif Présent cards of se réveiller have a double que in the PP field. (FR-V-21376 to 21381)

I get this error message after each card. Is there any way to delete the orginal audio files so I can use the audio from awesomeTSS?

Hi, thank you so much for creating the 80 Greek Verbs conjugation deck. I wanted to report an issue: 1st person plural present for “to hear” is entered as ακούουμε, but as far as I can tell that’s not a word and it should be ακούμε.
I’m still a beginner at Greek, so I’m not totally sure and forgive me if I’m wrong, but based on Wiktionary I think this is a mistake.

Is there a way to use this deck with the AnkiApp? I’ve downloaded the deck and imported it but it does not show up in the AnkiApp when I search for a deck. Is it only available for use on the desktop?

If that is the exact name of the app, it’s a copycat and not part of the Anki ecosystem. Anki knockoffs - Anki FAQs

If you really mean Anki, AnkiMobile on iOS, or AnkiDroid on Android (all of which you can find links to on the main site https://apps.ankiweb.net/) – yes, you should be able to import this deck into any one of those and sync it to the rest of them through AnkiWeb.

I have looked in the manual to find how to use the browser in order to follow your suggestion to ensure the cards are sorted properly. However, I cannot find a main window and my screen does not have an option for Browse which I’ve seen in a YT introduction video.

Here is what that manual says, “ The Browse window allows you to search through your cards and notes, and edit them. It is opened by clicking Browse in the main window, or by pressing B. It is comprised of three sections: the sidebar on the left, the card/note table on the top right, and the editing area on the bottom right. By positioning the mouse between two sections, it is possible to click and drag to expand one section and shrink the other.”

My screen for this deck looks like this:


Is there a way to access the main window that the manual refers to that I am overlooking? I am using ankiweb.net on an iPad using iPadOS 18.2.1 and a Safari Browser

Most of the time when you find instructions about Anki decks, they will be referring to one of the full apps – Anki, AnkiMobile, or AnkiDroid – which I gave you the link to above.

You’re using the AnkiWeb site, which is useful for some things – studying on-the-go, light editing – but has limited features. It’s really only meant to be used in conjunction with at least one of the apps.

If you’re looking for the Browse window in (desktop) Anki, you can’t miss it!

On AnkiWeb, the closest thing you’ll have is “Search” – in the upper left. But that’s really for finding a specific note, if you need to make small changes to it. You won’t be able to do broader deck/collection management actions like sorting cards.
