Reduce precision of time studied today

I know the title of this post only refers to “time studied today”, but precision is also a problem for the time info on when the card is shown again (hard, easy). I think this is where some confusion came from, sorry).

I dont object to it.

But can you elaborate what you want to see for the “card shown again” thing. Currently it can say 8.4h (I’m pretty sure I saw that) and I think 8h is enough precision. Do you agree or disagree with this?

I vehemently disagree for the points I mentioned above.

With the proposed change, it would become

Studied 1198 cards in 1 h 37 min today (4.83s/card)

I would also suggest changing 4.83s to 4.8s. But, I don’t have any strong feelings for that.

The points you mentioned above make sense for the time studied. But now, the question was about the answer buttons in the reviewer.

If the Hard button says 8.4 h, would you set an alarm for 8.4 hours and review your card at that time? I assume not. So, rounding this 8.4 h to 8 h is not an issue in my opinion. Rather, it just increases readability and decreases the mental load.

I re-read your points but don’t understand how they apply to “show next card”. When you review a card, and it shows “<8.4h good”, how does it help you to know the card will come up again in 8.4 hours rather than 8 or 9 hours? Maybe I’m missing something because I don’t have a huge deck like you but I don’t even see how this relates to the deck size. It’s unlikely you’ll review exactly in 8.4 hours anyway. Are you choosing between “hard” and “good” based on the exact precision? For me, a ballpark is enough (“I need to see this again soon; ah, tomorrow is enough for that one; don’t show me this one for days or weeks”). I hope you can elaborate because I truly don’t understand and I’d like to.

(I can understand the argument about precision for s/card.)

For the love of God, I am not talking about what happens inside the reviewer or whatever intervals shown above the buttons. I am talking about this.

I was answering this inquiry of yours good sir.

I beg you to to not confuse others with you regarding what you want to be less accurately displayed. It is you who conflated between the two in the first place, apologized then went on and did it again!

Then, I guess that we all agree with each other.
