Description:
In AnkiDroid, the text “uu7uuj5” appears on the front of all flashcards that I created myself. This issue does not occur in decks I downloaded from AnkiWeb. I haven’t edited the templates recently, and the bug affects every card I made manually, regardless of the deck.
Steps to reproduce:
Open any deck that I created myself in AnkiDroid.
Tap on a flashcard to view it.
Observe the text “uu7uuj5” on the front side.
Expected behavior:
The front of the card should only show the content I entered—no extra or random text.
Actual behavior:
The text “uu7uuj5” is displayed along with the card content, even though I didn’t insert it.
Environment:
Device: Samsung Galaxy A32
OS: Android 13
AnkiDroid version: 2.20.1
Synced with AnkiWeb/Desktop recently: yes
Additional info: I checked the front template and fields, but didn’t find “uu7uuj5” there. The issue seems isolated to cards I made myself, and it appeared recently without me modifying anything manually.
You don’t say – is this specific to AnkiDroid, or does the same string appear on the same cards on desktop Anki?
This really has to be something that got pasted into your card template somehow. I know you said you haven’t edited your templates recently, and that you checked the front template already – but are you sure you checked the right note type, and not a similar one? I can take a look in your AnkiWeb collection – what note type is it?
No need for your login details – I can see the collection through our read-only support access.
I’m assuming it’s the “Basic” note type, because that string of characters is right there on your front template. If you edit that out, you should be all set.
