I have trouble copy-pasting from my Dictionary into Anki cards on my windows.
This is the error:
An error occurred while opening <urlopen error [WinError 3] The system cannot find the path specified: ‘’>
note that sometimes there isn’t any error and pasting will be done easily. However, most of the times the error will occur.
Yet, after trying to close the error tab after three times, the text will be pasted.
What is the solution to avoid the error?
I suspect this is happening because the content you’re pasting includes images or files somehow.
The only place urlopen is used in the anki source appears to be here in the part handling the pasting of files or images into a note field:
There could be a bug where the pasted content is incorrectly identified to contain files or images or perhaps it correctly identifies the presence of images but fails in adding them to the media folder.
Could you show some examples from your dictionary that did cause an error and others that didn’t when pasted into Anki?
Yet, after trying to close the error tab after three times, the text will be pasted.
This is probably because three separate errors happened during pasting so those were actually three overlapping error messages.
Firstly, thanks for your response. Yes. There are some icons in my dictionary that I think cause this error. However, I have no problem pasting these texts on my phone exactly with the same dictionary.
The icons are active or passive. I mean some of them may be active and do sth when you click on them, and some of them are passive like bullet points. (Both of them occur the error)
In this picture you can see an icon that cause the error. the whole text will be pasted after closing the tab once. (Without the icon)
Is there any solution for this?
Actually, the dictionary that I mentioned is a specific one which is proper for my own language. So, using this dictionary is a must for me. Hopefully, there is a solution to avoid the error and not to change the dictionary.
