Prioritize due order for new cards when using subdecks

Hi all, before I start, let me say that if what I’m asking has already been covered in a past post, I apologize for the duplicate post. I tried searching this forum and reading the manual, but couldn’t find a way to do what I’m hoping to do. Also, as a quick background, I’ve been using Anki on and off since 2014 and solely for language study. I recently started using it again after a break, so this is my first time working with the FRSR algorithm. My general experience with Anki settings are based on the previous algorithm.

I have a parent deck called Active, and I used to have subdecks for each language I was studying, such as Active::French and Active::Spanish. I also have tags to specify the language, such as language::french and language::spanish. When I restarted using Anki, I decided to use the FRSR algorithm, to reset all of my cards, including lapses and review counts, and to randomize the order of all cards irrespective of the subdeck.

As the manual mentions, when I selected to study the Active deck, it would first pull new cards from French and then Spanish - at the time, there were no cards in the Active deck - despite the actual due order of the new cards. But, I wanted to see the new cards in the due order, so I decided to remove the subdecks and put it all in the parent deck. Now, I would like to recreate the subdecks. From what I can see in the manual, there seems to be no Display option to allow for this. Is there a way to use subdecks but, when studying the parent deck, have new cards shown in their due order regardless of which subdeck they are actually in?
