Pasting images problem: Unexpected response code: ⁨503

Hello,

Suddenly i get an error (Unexpected response code: ⁨503) when i want to drag an image into a card. I used the source-website without any problems in the past.

Ik tried booting up withoud add-ons. I also tried to copy-paste it and by opening the image in a new tab. No succes.

I think i experienced something comparable in the past and the issue went away on its self. Now it seems more persistant.

Can i do something?

Thank you.

  1. What happened when you did each of those things – same error?
  1. Is it only happening with images from that site? What site is it?

  2. What exactly are you pasting/dragging/dropping? It might be hard to tell, but it probably matters a lot. Try pasting it in different places to see – in the display (regular) view of an Anki field, in the HTML view of an Anki field [by clicking < > above the field], in a separate text document, etc. If you can get text, paste it here `between backticks, in a code-block`

  3. Have you tried other methods, like right-click the image and copy link, or saving the image to your computer first?

  1. same error

  2. i found out its only on that specific websitesite (that worked before). Other online photo’s i can still drag into anki.

  3. it are the photo’s on the site that i can’t drag and drop anymore. With the text on that website it still works.

  4. right clicking to save and paste in anki doesn’t work but when i save the image on my pc and add it via anki it works, but thats not an efficient solution

The error you are seeing is a 503 Server Unavailable error from the website you are trying to copy the image from. The site’s web server is telling you that it is unable to complete your request for the image file. We don’t know the reason why. Perhaps the server is temporarily overloaded? Perhaps the server is having database problems? Or, perhaps it is something else? We just don’t know.

If you want to name the specific website you are having problems with (and provide a link ** to a specific image file that you are trying to use), then perhaps someone could take a closer look at the issue. Or, you could try to contact the website owner and ask them to investigate the problem.

Otherwise, you might have to settle for that workaround you mentioned of first saving the image to your PC.

Edit: Added:

** Or, provide information about how to locate a specific image file that you tried, if you can’t provide a link. This is so we can also try to drag the image into Anki and reproduce the exact problem you saw.
