Overlong learning status in FSRS

FSRS doc says that the learning status of cards should not exceed a day. But what are the negative things that will happen when I leave a card in “red” state overnight anyway?

It’s fine to not review a learn card today and do it the next day instead. The reasoning behind the recommendation is mainly that it’s more efficient if you let FSRS control the intervals. (and there was the hard interval getting longer than good issue, but iirc that’s gone).

No, that can still happen sometimes if your learning step is 2d or longer.

Huh, I thought dae didn’t reject the idea of enforcing a hard rule.

I remember it being raised at one point. We have logic in the code that ensures hard<good<easy in the review case, but that doesn’t work when some buttons are learning steps and some are reviews. Ideally we’d handle this automatically, but if it requires the user to ignore a warning to trigger the behaviour, it doesn’t seem urgent.
