Native Easy Days not being applied as expected

I was using the Easy Days of the FSRS helper add-on for sometime before the feature was nativized, and since I updated Anki to ⁨24.11 (and reviewed the deck options to set easy days) it seems they’re not being applied now. I might be missing a technical detail.

I have Saturday set to reduced, and Sunday to minimum. I usually review on AnkiDroid, and before 24.11 I had the FRSR helper add-on set to ‘auto reschedule cards reviewed on other devices after sync’, and it behaved as I expected. Some time after I noticed the issue, about two weeks ago, I used the FSRS helper to ‘apply easy days now’, and see what happened over time. By now it’s pretty evident from the Future Due stats chart that scheduling is not being applied as I expect.

After rescheduling all cards:

The easy day scheduling should be happening during the review session, right? I shouldn’t have to manually apply easy days…

I don’t know if this is related to this thread, but that one is too technical for me, so I decided to make a new one. I’m posting to try and understand what kind of issue this is (as well as looking for a fix). Thanks

Don’t worry – it’s not!

Assuming you are using an updated version of AnkiDroid that supports Easy Days, and you have now turned off the Helper’s “reschedule on sync” functionality – that would make AnkiDroid responsible for doing the Easy Days scheduling on its own. I wonder if this might be a syncing issue.

There were some reports early on that Easy Days settings weren’t syncing across devices . Those seem to have worked themselves out, but that doesn’t mean they were necessarily “fixed”!

I can’t tell from those reports whether the settings actually looked incorrect on the other device (buttons/sliders were wrong), or if they looked correct and were simply not being applied. Have you checked through the Deck options on AnkiDroid [long-press on the deck]? If it doesn’t look correct – bingo! [And please let us know!]

If it looks correct, try setting it to something else, saving, and then setting it how you want it and saving again. Running “apply easy days now” through the Helper add-on to establish a baseline was a great idea, so do that again. And then see if it is working better after a few days.

If this does improve it, I hope you’ll let us know because clearly there’s an issue that needs to be looked at with how the feature is syncing!

Thanks! I did see the easy day settings in deck options on AnkiDroid after updating (5 Jan) and I believe they matched, although I don’t recall if my settings were ported over from the helper add-on, or if set them in AnkiDroid, or on desktop.

I’ll do this and see what happens.
