Mouse stutters when moving over UI elements on version 2.1.66+ (qt6)

Hi,

I’m on Windows 11, Ryzen 3700x, RTX 2080 driver 545.84.

This is a minor issue, but it’s a little annoying. I’d like to use the newly integrated FSRS scheduler, but from release 2.1.66 my mouse lags when moving over UI elements in Anki:

I hope you can see in the above GIF how my mouse is smooth when moving around the blank areas around the UI elements and in the middle and left sections of the browse screen. When I hover buttons, the deck list, the top file/edit/view etc bar, my mouse lags and skips around.

q6 2.1.65 doesn’t have this issue. Interestingly, q5 2.1.66 also doesn’t have this issue, so it seems to be specific to q6 2.1.66+. Disabling addons on startup doesn’t fix anything, either.

If the 23.10 release candidate doesn’t help, please try changing your video driver in the preferences screen.

23.10 is the same. I don’t have the option to change my video driver in preferences, but I followed the docs and tried software, angle and auto in the gldriver6 file without any luck. I think I’m just going to tolerate the lag since the qt5 version uses up a lot of my CPU and spins my fans. Hopefully this will be fixed soon?

E: Nevermind, this is more annoying than I thought it would be. I’m just going to use the qt5 release …

If you try with 23.10, you should find a video driver option in the preferences screen - I’d try all of the available drivers to see if any make a difference.

Ahh, right. It looks like OpenGL and software are the only options that cause no lag for me. The problem persists with the Vulkan driver, unfortunately. OpenGL it is.
