Kaspersky 'desinfected' mpv

Hi,

a while ago I accidentally pressed ‘OK’ when Kaspersky Antivirus asked to desinfect mpv.exe and since then I get the ‘Sound and video on cards will not function until mpv or mplayer is installed.’ message and when running from command prompt the ‘mpv not found, reverting to mplayer’ line.

I first tried to revert this inside the Kaspersky application but there was no history of this/no entry in the list of programs you can resuscitate. I then tried uninstalling/reinstalling Anki and restarting my computer. This didn’t work. I also tried disabling all addons just to be sure. I also temporarily deactivated Kaspersky antivirus. I installed mplayer and added both mplayer and mpv to system Path. All of this didn’t work.

mpv.exe is still where it should be and can be manually started without any problem. Also starting it within the virtual environment I have to run Anki in works fine.

I use:
Windows 10 (21H1)
Version ⁨2.1.48 (fb07bad3)⁩
Python 3.8.1 Qt 5.15.2 PyQt 5.15.4

Interestingly the about page in anki shows me Version 2.1.48 even though I used the 2.1.49 installer.

Now I’m burying all my sound-cards and do them on mobile later which works fine, but it would be great if somebody had any idea how to resuscitate my desktop sounds.

All the best,
Sascha

Maybe you have two copies of Anki installed in different locations, and the copy you are opening is lacking mpv.exe in its folder? I would expect the version to show up as 2.1.49 after installing.
