I wanted to report what I believe to be a minor bug in the ‘Check Media’ operation. The details are as follows.
I use Anki to learn vocabulary. Here is an example card:
What I’ve circled in red is an image named “play_button.png”. When clicked, the word’s pronunciation is played. This image is used on every card.
The results of ‘Check Media’:

You can prevent this by adding an underscore at the beginning of the filename, e.g., _play_button.png
.
From the manual (Media - Anki Manual ):
Check Media does not scan question or answer templates […]. If you need a static image or sound on every card, name it with a leading _ (e.g., _dog.jpg
) to tell Anki to ignore it when checking for media.
