Is it possible to do a filtered deck for notes with a card inside with 100% difficulty? Id rather not isolate the card and do all the cards that are due from the note with the difficult card
I know i can do this manually but id like to automate it in some way
In the browser, search for prop:d=1 (or prop:d>0.99 if you get nothing). Tag the notes with d100 then make a filtered deck with the search tag:d100.
I don’t know why you’d do this though. Difficulty is just a metric used by FSRS and doesn’t correspond to actual difficulty, and reviewing cards with low difficulty just because of a sibling with high difficulty sounds like “too much studying”, to put it gently.
That needs doing manually every day. Im doing something similar already
id like to do it automatically every day. Thats why im trying to do it with filtered cards that i only need to rebuilt
Im looking for cards that im likely to fail today, not necessarily that they are difficult. Maybe theres a better way to find those cards than difficulty
Im only chosing siblings that were already due today already so no more study than necessary
Ive been doing manually a few weeks and honestly feels great to spread them
Then you should use retrievability, prop:r<0.8 for example.
I don’t think there’s a way to get siblings with just a search, but if they’re due today, then why use filtered decks for that? In any case, I recommend using sibling burying.

retrievability sounds nicer yes! thanks!

Not even with a plugin of some sort?

Im doing clozed without buriying siblings and hide visually the later cards with clozed overlapped
The reason for filtered decks for this is that Im forced to study ordered by created because is the only way to be presented the cards in the correct order. So the “bad cards” tend to pile up together and this is a way to spread them and it feels nicer while studying in my own experience
It also allows me to “sprinkle” just one card at a time. When im done, with the hard card i simply rebuild the deck for the next one. All while reviewing the rest of the cards
However, you might consider adding a card type testing the full note. By putting these cards in a deck with 70% DR, you can get pretty efficient with it. Grading would be based on the overall correctness so failing a cloze or two out of 10 would be a pass.
The implementation of the template is left as an exercise for the reader.
Unfortunately that sounds great in theory, but in my experience I cant grade notes like that
Passing a failure is just kicking the can down the lane without learning it
I found the opposite to be true. Sometimes I have to actually break down long sentences that i thought i was going to be able to remember into smaller chunks for me to be able to remember cards as i want
Also, picture remembering a poem. Not remembering a part might stall you when reciting it back so not really an option
Well that’s why I suggested adding a card type rather than replacing your cards with a single one (for cloze notes, this would mean using a specific cloze number and modifying the template with conditional replacement).
So you’d end up with atomic cards and one big card that tests the whole thing, but more leniently.
clozed overlapped allows you to do this already very easily adding an {{all}} to your card card if i dont misremember. I havent ever use it tho
Yes, but you won’t review the “big lenient card” often because of the 70% DR
I see what you mean now. I can see doing this being valuable in the future for some kinda of cards so i keep the idea in the backstore
Unfortunately it doesnt work for how i want to learn my current cards
you’re already doing that by reciting the entire poem or whatever outside of Anki
Yes, and this is a problem that messes up the algorithm. Its not special about poems either. It is a problem with vocabulary too. Exposure makes you review things outside anki
I avoid doing it on purpose with cards tho
My “hack” is to never rate something easy the day after i have a “forced” review. My other “hack” is to never do a forced whole review until all cards are at least mature if i can avoid it
Are you simply trying to learn sequential items in order?
It reminds me of my chess opening flashcards. My workaround was to make a new new for each move, and to suspend the cards/notes that are more than 5 or 6 moves deep.
Each card has all the preceding moves, so when I see the card, I play it out and only grade it on the last move. If I get it wrong before the last move, then I manually grade that specific card as wrong (by searching in the browser and using addons to find the correct card and then grade it. I don’t have any other sequential items that I want to memorize, but am wondering if there are any ore elegant/automatic ways of doing this.
