IBus Korean input not working

I use Linux Mint 22.1. Before the new launcher korean input was working fine. I was using fcitx version 4.
But after the new launcher korean input does not work at all. I tried switching to fcitx5 and also tried ibus. Nothing works to input korean characters.

Have you been through the other recent fcitx- and ibus-related posts?

I looked at those posts. I have tried following their advice but it still didn’t work. Also, they primarily address japanese language input.

I’m not suggesting that Japanese and Korean are the same language – but I would speculate that methods in Linux for non-Latin character input are more the same than they are different.

I tried the methods they listed. It works perfectly in other apps and in other languages, but not for anki in korean.

Okay. Go to Help > About – click “Copy Debug Info” – paste that entire result here.

Then we’ll see if anyone can reproduce the issue, or has more specific suggestions.

IBUS should work out of the box, and while I haven’t tested with Korean input, I did previously confirm it was working with Japanese. Fcitx won’t work, but there is a workaround: Install & Upgrade - Anki Manual
