As I study I want to make “again” not show the card again, but Anki auto makes note of it to show up again if I re-run the deck or I rebuild.
If I select “easy” the card will not appear again, even if I re-run the deck, only if I rebuild will it appear.
Once I complete the deck, and I want to run the deck again but only cards that were “again” was selected will appear.
Repeat until I narrow down cards I just don’t know and can spear head learn those.
Really I just want a “right” and “wrong” button. If I select “right” the card will not appear again unless I rebuild the deck. If I select “wrong” the card will not appear again until I run the deck again, or I rebuild it.
This is how I study, and the way Anki is set up I cant seem to find a way to accomplish this. Is this even possible?
Really, I don’t think Anki is the right program for what I need. I want a dumb flash card application. I know this is a point of confusion for a lot of new people trying out this app. Can anyone recommend one if Anki cant be configured the way I want? Would need to be able to transfer my current decks to the new app.
This is a way to do it, however I don’t like that I have to add tags while I am studying. I would need to edit the cards each time to accomplish this. I guess I could use flags instead as its easier but I use flags already; red for hard ones I need to return to; orange for diagrams. I dont want to remove those flags though as I study. Would be nice if I could add multiple tags to cards, that maybe a solution. I just don’t like that the ownness is on the user to manage tags to identify cards that need to be rerun. Would be nice if Anki has a mode to create a custom deck for all cards that again was pressed x amount of times. I did find this plugin, that shows a column for how many times “again” is pressed, this is helpful for adding tags quickly to cards I need to rereview. Will try this out see if it helps.
There’s a whole algorithm and scheduler that is already doing that in Anki. It only becomes your responsibility if you decide to override it with your own judgment.
The “Lapses” column will do that just fine if you want to look at Again grades in Review. Browsing - Anki Manual
