FSRS6 and short term memory

I’ve heard a key new feature of FSRS 6 is parameterising the shape of the forgetting curve.

I’ve also heard that previous FSRS versions did not have a good short term memory model, leading to recommendations to manually set learning and relearning steps to work around this limitation.

How true is this for FSRS 6, given the increased flexibility in forgetting curve shape? Is there a way to check?

FSRS 6 doesn’t have any improvements in modelling near-term memory. You should still set your own learnings/relearning steps.
