I switched from SM2 to FSRS a couple of months ago. My desired retention is set to 92%. I would like to be at or near 90% on mature cards. I consistently achieve roughly 85% on mature cards. There are about 15,000 cards in this vocabulary deck and many of them haven’t been reviewed for over a year, and the ones I am failing on are mostly the very old ones. So I’m guessing that over time, FSRS will gradually get me to my goal.
I do regularly optimize FSRS.
Am I right to assume that reaching the goal is just a matter of time?
I study every day and always complete all the reviews
I have not rescheduled with FSRS. I tried doing that one time and it added thousands of cards to the daily workload, so I restored from the latest backup and have not run a reschedule since then.
Could you check the retrievability of these old cards?

I haven’t learned how to use the FSRS statistics. But I’ve attached the stats page as a PDF.
Thank you.
(Attachment anki-stats-2025-05-07@23-09-58.pdf is missing)
I tried to send you the stats as an attached PDF but your system rejected it.
Please tell me how to check the retrievability as you requested. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the FSRS statistics.
I think the Retrievability figures Sherlock is looking for are fairly evident in your answer. If rescheduling pushes thousands of your cards to past due dates – that means they are mis-scheduled now, in FSRS’s estimation. So you’ll see a lot of Retrievability below your DR.
Rescheduling is a two-edged sword. Doing it can abruptly create a huge backlog, but not doing it means that you’re not using FSRS scheduling for those cards yet. So even though they don’t look overdue, you’re studying them “late” as far as FSRS is concerned.
In this situation, I think that yes – it’s just going to take time for FSRS scheduling to reach those cards, and for you to get closer to your FSRS desired retention.

Here is the graph. The table you’ve displayed doesn’t appear in my statistics. Is that created by an add-on?
This was my belief. As long as I’m achieving around 85% on mature cards, I can be patient.
Unlike the many people who are using Anki for exams, I’m a retired guy studying Spanish for fun, so no pressure!
But I would like to see the table that Danika_Dakika displayed.
It’s the Browse screen. Click B when you’re on the main screen to open it. You should select the “Stability”, “Retreivability”, “Difficulty” columns before taking a SS.
Obviously, you have many cards with R < 90% and they haven’t been due yet.
