Prior to FSRS 4.5, I only used the custom scheduling code for FSRS 4.0 and it’s smaller update versions before upgrading to Anki 24.06 and using FSRS 4.5.
Many of my cards have the custom scheduling code, with many reviews over the course of about a year before I started using FSRS 4.5. I use the native FSRS in Anki now, and no longer use the custom scheduling code. I don’t plan on rescheduling all cards, I only reschedule to FSRS as I review.
Is it recommended to use the FSRS Helper and to use the option “Clear custom data in all cards” while using FSRS 4.5 or FSRS 5.0? Or will that significantly change intervals?
In that case, does it matter if I use the option at all? Does leaving the custom scheduling code in the previous reviews affect the intervals? I would think with FSRS 5.0, removing the custom scheduling code would improve intervals and make the intervals more reflective of actual recall?
You should definitely remove custom scheduling code from its field (in deck options), but I don’t remember if clearing custom data from cards after that is necessary. @L.M.Sherlock
