‘Find and replace’ on mobile

The only reason why I still use Anki on desktop is for its ‘find and replace all’ function. I would appreciate it if I could do this on mobile too.

That is, a function that allows you to enter a query and replace all occurrences with something else,

  • in all selected cards/notes, or all that match some search query, or just your entire collection;
  • optionally using regex, including capturing groups: \1, \2, …

It would be useful for maintaining huge decks of cards.

It’s already available under developer options (it’s not finished yet so be warned).

Oh, nice. But where? I’m on AnkiDroid 2.20.1 and I can’t see it under ‘Developer options’ in the settings; not in the card browser either.

It was probably added in 2.21.

Download the latest version.

For anyone else who don’t know where the dev options are: settings > about. tap quickly (around 7 times) on the anki logo, tap OK.
