Hello! I’ve been having trouble with the custom study option for a couple months now, where it includes random cards when I study a certain section
for example, I was studying for a MWEP (momentum, work, energy, and power) test, specifically the definitons - of which there are 15 -
when I pressed custom study and clicked the tag (MWEP) the custom deck came up with 100 cards and half of them were random definitions from other tags, like my general definitions tag which I didnt include in the custom study when I chose to exclude tags and its been doing this for all other decks aswell when I do custom study sessions.
You’re excluding cards (from notes) that have those specific tags, but do you have any untagged notes? If what you really want is just the cards with the MWEP tag, you should use the top box instead, and only include that one tag.
If you get unexpected cards in a Filtered/Custom Study deck, you can always look at it in the Browse window – either by looking at just that Filtered/Custom deck (it will show in the left sidebar), or by opening its Options and clicking “Search” to copy its search filter to Browse. For this one, take a look at the “Tags” column. That should give you a sense of why you’re getting what you’re getting.
[You can reverse this process too – you can start by searching in the Browse window to find the cards you want, then Edit > Create Filtered Deck will create your deck for you. Here, since you want reschedule-based-on turned off, you’ll need to edit that in the Options before you start studying.]
I agree with @Danika_Dakika . It sounds like you have been overly generous with your tagging and have included some cards in the MWEP category, which you now believe should not be there.
Check through the Browse window to confirm this.
If there are a lot of cards, then I’d export them to a CSV, correct the tags using LibreOffice Calc or similar and then reimport.
