Corrupted collection file => perpetual error message

Hello! I get the following error when trying to start or quit anki. I have been struggling with a corruption issues all morning.

Earlier, I was getting a message that my collection file was corrupt, and when i tried to close Anki the “back up” would be loading indefinitely and I had to force quit. Although now I cannot reproduce this error. I tried to switch profiles to restore from an automatic backup, but I get the error message posted above.

Really unsure what to do! I’m very not tech savvy. Thank you!

Did you try holding down shift while starting Anki as it suggests? Do you get the same message when switching to a new profile? Or only after you import the backup into the new profile?

Please let us know on your original post if you fix an issue in the future.
