That worked but not for all my cards! Not sure why. Did anything else change with audio playback besides the div requirement?
Going back to 24.11 (not 25.02) fixed it for me.
Did you change it for all of the card types on all of the affected note types?
Yes I did. I think the problem is with the audio rendering?
Audio playback itself works fine for me. That is with local audio files. I can’t say about playing audio files from the Internet as I live in a part of the world where I can’t rely on always have Internet access.
This is one of the audio files that’s not working. Card audios are about half working half borked here and I have no idea why.

Not sure why you’re sending your audio file though. If it plays in another player (like an .mp3 player, the browser, …) then the audio is fine.
If it doesn’t work with your cards in anki, then you’ll have to search for issues there.
You can also link us an example card which doesn’t work.
Whats off for me is that some audios play inside anki some dont. How do i send an example card?
Is there a particular card which never plays the audio? In that case, could you send that card here (.apkg file).
- Go to the browser.
- Find a card whose audio doesn’t work.
- Select that card.
- Notes → Export Notes…
- You can then share it e.g. with google drive like you did above.
[I’m not sure your issue is the same template issue OP was having, so I’m splitting you into your own thread.]
Can we start from the beginning? I’m not sure you’ve ever really told us what your issue is.
-
Did your issue start after an update? What version had you updated to?
-
What was happening on the cards where the audio wasn’t working?
-
When you looked at your templates, did you find the commented-out field
<!--{{Audio}}t-->
issue that we were talking about in the other post? Did you correct that everywhere? -
For the cards where the audio is now not working – is that in version 24.11?
- Are these the same cards where you just fixed the templates or different cards?
- Are these cards all the same note type?
- Is there a play button displayed on the cards?
- Have you checked those card templates for other errors?
- Did these audio files play fine before you updated/reverted versions?
- Have you run Tools > Check Media to make sure the files are present in your collection?
- Have you check to make sure the audio files are actually playable – i.e. playable outside of Anki?

The sound plays on 24.11 but not on 25.02.4. I am 100% certain it is the update since I have both versions my Applications folder. Quicktime plays the audio just fine.
Not sure what to tell you. It works flawlessly on the latest build from today (25.05 (8fc822a6)). This is probably largely the same as this Anki 25.05 Beta 1, so maybe try with the latest beta?
I tested with debian linux (sid).
The template looks fine as well.
