Any way to display card properties within the card?

I couldn’t find any previous topic discussing this.

I want to display card properties within the card, specifically FSRS difficulty and stability on the back template of cards.

There are special fields already available, such as {{Tags}}, {{Type}} etc., but they don’t seem to include something like {{Difficulty}}.

I think it’d be useful if all the sortable fields (or searchable ones like prop:d) in the browser could be shown in the cards easily. A special field for each feels like it’d be the easiest since they already exist and are similar.

There are a few ways to get access to this already.

  1. The easiest way is to see the memory state when you’re studying is to open the current/previous Card Info – from the More menu at the bottom of the screen. It’s a separate window, but you can line it up beside/behind your study screen. I like it to peek out just a little on one side so I can’t see it all the time, but then I can click it whenever I need to check something.

  2. If you want the complete Card Info, but merged into your study window – there are a few add-ons that do that – like Card Info during Review, and Extended Card Stats During Review. [NB: as of today, neither one of them is working for me in 24.06.2, but I expect that won’t last long.]

  3. If you only want the FSRS memory state – this is also a “hidden” feature in the FSRS Helper add-on that will do this. If you go to Tools > Add-ons > [select this one] > Config – you can change the value for display_memory_state to true. Then you’ll get the FSRS “debug” display on your card back.

The obvious caution that goes with all of this is – seeing those figures should not impact how you grade your answer. Some folks get distracted by the numbers, and skew their grades. Don’t let that be you!

I could have sworn it wasn’t a visible option when I checked the other day, but now I see it in the menu too! No need to go digging for it in the config.

This addon shows the total number of times you made the card, again, difficult, good and easy in numbers within the review screen, but it is in Portuguese
