I’m experiencing a persistent issue with AnkiDroid’s synchronization feature.
Problem Description:
When I tap the sync button in AnkiDroid, a synchronization dialog appears briefly but automatically disappears in less than a second, without any interaction from me.
The dialog closes so quickly that I cannot read its contents properly or tap any of the buttons. The AnkiDroid app itself remains open; only the dialog disappears.
Currently, the dialog asks me to choose which collection to keep (AnkiWeb or AnkiDroid). However, I cannot select either option because the dialog disappears almost immediately.
Importantly, this issue was already occurring before there was any synchronization conflict between AnkiWeb and AnkiDroid. Therefore, I believe the problem is related to the dialog disappearing unexpectedly rather than the synchronization conflict itself.
This issue occurs consistently whenever I attempt to sync.
Device Information:
- Device: SM-P613 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite)
- AnkiDroid version: 2.25.1
Troubleshooting Steps Tried:
1. Disabled automatic synchronization. This did not resolve the issue.
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled AnkiDroid. After reinstalling, synchronization works normally for the first few attempts, but the same issue eventually returns.
3. Cleared the app cache. This did not resolve the issue.
Important Note Regarding Data Loss:
Unfortunately, I can no longer try reinstalling AnkiDroid because I have completed a significant amount of studying on this device since synchronization stopped working.
This study progress has not been synced to AnkiWeb, so uninstalling the app could result in losing my unsynced study history.

Could you please help me identify what is causing the synchronization dialog to disappear automatically?
I would greatly appreciate a solution that allows me to resolve this issue without uninstalling the app or losing my unsynced study progress.
