I forgot to sync anki desktop last night after doing 400 reviews, making edits to cards and creating 20 new cards.
I don’t have access to my desktop to sync until late tonight.
Can I complete reviews on ankidroid during the day and sync them without losing the edits and new cards i made last night? I understand I’ll have to re-review cards, I’m more concerned about losing the edits and newly created cards.
As long as you have made no conflicting changes (changes which would cause you to force a sync in one direction), it should work. Your reviews done on this device and your changes made should both be saved. (Just incase, create a backup on both of your devices before you sync)
It’s many hours later, so I imagine you’ve already resolved this, but for (I hope there isn’t a) next time –
Avoiding changes that would force a one-way sync would not be enough. Changing any information for the same note/card on both devices can cause a card to end up in an inconsistent state after syncing.
Instead of trying to re-review those 400 cards that Anki doesn’t know about, I’d suggest doing your best not to touch them at all. Maybe pull only today’s due cards into a Filtered deck and study from there? The same for anything you know you edited yesterday – avoid touching those too.
