Anki quits when I go to browse and click a card

Please help me, I am a medical student, and my life depends on Anki. The problem started today after there were some add-on updates (I think, I wasn’t paying close attention). Now when I go to browse and click on a card, the whole app crashes on my MacBook. It says this:

Update: I found a thread that said I can go to preferences then click reset window sizes. This fixed the issue where I can now go to browse and click on cards. However, the thread says it isn’t a permanent fix. If anyone knows how to permanently fix this please let me know!
