Anki Desktop for Mac causing kernel panic

Anki used to work fine but then my Mac started constantly crashing and by process of elimination, I realised Anki was the issue and uninstalling it was the only way to stop my Macbook crashing. Anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it? I had the standard, recommended ‘stable’ version for Mac installed. My Macbook is a late 2013 Macbook Pro for reference.

It’s probably a video driver or video card issue. If your Mac has a dedicated graphics card, maybe forcing integrated graphics or vice versa will help. As a last resort you could try start Anki with ANKI_SOFTWAREOPENGL=1 defined.
