Anki 24.10 Beta

@Expertium

Am I doing something wrong.

How can I start up the scheduler. I thought by leaving the (re)learning Steps empty, it would enable the scheduler.
This is the interval I am getting with the <1d scheduler. This doesn’t make any sense. it is as if it is not enabled at all.

Why do you think something is not working right?

I thought by leaving the (re)learning Steps empty, it would enable the scheduler.

What does it mean?

How much time is left until “Next day starts at”?

I dont understand what you are getting at. it is left at 1 hours per midnight and I still have 4 hours till that local time. These intervals are what I would get if the intervals are left blank but no scheduler was enabled like as the case before this.

w0=0.7612
0.7612*46/100*24=8,40h

The learning step crosses the day boundary so it is displayed as 1 day.

Okay  But the again interval is what is weirding me out.
Look at this
This is the interval for a completely new card. I suppose you mean that my again interval is actually 8.40 hours and that is why it is automatically deferred to 1d

You can see for yourself by changing w0 for example to 0.0001

I don’t understand what you want to show with a screenshot.

Graduating Interval

To be honest, this is not an appropriate topic for user support.

Okay. This is a completely new card. The Again interval has changed to 7m. Only this low I have managed to get it down to this, after changing the first value to just 0.000001.

This scheduler seems to not work very well with a “Next Day starts at: time limit” and the optimizer. It is only rare that I have (and I could also imagine for others) that I have a first value lower than <1, much less <0.5.

So getting down this low with the optimizer alone is practically impossible, making learning new cards with this scheduler also unfeasible.

I’m confused about this now-native ‘Easy days’ feature in the new version. Is the component being accessed in different places, or are they conflicting? Is it the same functionality duplicated? Should I ignore the old one?

You don’t need the add-on anymore, ignore the add-on

@DerIshmaelite you will only get <1d reviews if your first parameters are sufficiently small and/or desired retention is sufficiently high. You are not guaranteed to get same-day reviews. If FSRS thinks that the optimal interval for Again for you is 1d, it won’t give you a <1d interval.

So yeah, it depends on parameters and desired retention.

To be honest, this is not an appropriate topic for user support.

I will carry this discussion over here:

All the bugs I reported have been fixed. Congratulations to everyone involved!

BETA 3:

I changed this option and didn’t see any changes when rescheduling.

Maybe it works with the Fuzz Factor

Fuzz Factor

From what I could read in this ticket, it addresses whether these settings should be global or by definition group. I only use 3 different groups, and I still wouldn’t know if it’s better to have them global or by group. In any case, it’s not the issue I reported. I will wait for some feedback to see if it’s actually a bug.

If you leave the steps blank, the card will skip relearning, and will be assigned a new interval of 1 day by default.

Relearning Steps

Either the manual is wrong or there is a bug.

The manual hasn’t been updated for version 24.10 yet. In 24.10 if you leave it empty it’s up to the FSRS algorithm to decide the interval based on the card’s history and the parameters.

This is a recent update of the manual.

There is a bug with infinite reviews for some cards introduced in beta 3.
With 3 learning steps and 2 relearning the card after the 1h step should be graduating to tomorrow, but it’s stuck at 19.5 min?
