If you want a very specific course from the main Memrise site, then yes, copypasting individual words into an Anki deck might be the only option right now. But I would recommend you to take a look at the courses I linked above. Community courses often turn out to be much better than the official ones (if not in terms of polish, then at least in terms of the content).
Hello. Thank you very much for the great work you have done in creating this tool for downloading Memrise courses.
When I try to download a rather large course, the blue download progress bar stops and nothing seems to happen — it remains at 0 of 11,994 files. Here is the link to the course: /community/course/389025/50000-angliiskikh-slov.
Could you please advise what might be the reason for this? Or is it expected behavior and I simply need to wait longer?
Thank you for the report. If you are using the latest version (9.1), it is likely either a connection issue or that Memrise changed something on the site again (they’ve introduced some changes to the courses on the new platform just recently, so it might be related). I can’t check it right now, but will try to test it in about a week or so.
Thank you for the quick response. I’d like to add that I was able to successfully download other, smaller courses, so I’m inclined to think that the issue might be related to the large size of this particular course.
First of all, thank you a lot for making this useful extension. It has proved very convenient for my migration from Memrise to Anki, saving me hours and hours of work. As one user mentioned earlier on this thread, the script seems unable to fetch alternative answers. Is there any workaround to export that data as well? Thank you in advance.
Hello. Thank you very much for the great work you have done in creating this tool for downloading Memrise courses.
For the past two days, the courses are not downloading as usual. There is no list of words in the csv file, and the audio and video materials are not loading at all
Hello Eltaurus and first of all my deep gratitude for making and supporting this fantastic tool. I just found out about it.
Unfortunately it doesnt seem to work anymore. Did you have a chance to take a look at it? Am i too late for the party and memrise has closed the gates?
Thank you all for the reports. It seems Memrise updated their API, so the adjustments to the extension are to be made for it to work with the current version of the site. Luckily, new format doesn’t seem to be too different, so I should be able to write the patch promptly enough. I’ll post here when it’s ready.

The new version is available on GitHub, please update to v9.2 and give it a go.
Because it’s impossible for me to run extensive tests single-handedly, there’s always a chance that some things won’t work as before. Feel free to get back at me if you notice anything functioning improperly.

I’ve added the functionality for downloading the alternative answers. It is enabled in the “Advanced” section of the settings:
Memrise does not expose hidden alts (the ones marked by _) on the fields that are not answers, and also occasionally mixes them with automatically generated typing corrections, so the result might not always match the expectations. The ordinary alts should be mostly fine.
Apologies for the delay. I’ve tested your course on the current version of the extension. Generally, it downloads fine for me, only occasionally getting stuck at the start of the media download phase. It doesn’t happen reliably enough to track down the source of the bug, however, and I don’t think it will worth the effort unless many more such problematic cases are discovered.
You can download the course in question via the link:
This is the version that got downloaded for me and it seem to be complete.
If you encounter similar problems in the future, it might be helpful to make sure you have sufficient free ram in addition to checking your connection and retrying the downloading a couple of times. If there’s a course nothing above would help with, post the link here and I’ll take a closer look into the source of the problem.
Update 9.3 adds an option to download study progress and extra metadata, such as testing direction for each word and pre-made choices for multiple-choice questions. It might not be particularly useful at the moment, since the default Anki import does not support such options, but the required functionality is about to be included in the support add-on in an upcoming update.
Also, the settings order is adjusted. In particular, progress and alternative answer toggles are moved to the main section:
