Would it be possible for Anki to support second-factor authentication, for security reasons? I’d like to be able to sleep at night knowing that my decks won’t be altered or deleted. Thanks!
I’m afraid this is not at the top of the priority list at the moment, as flashcards are not a high priority target, and 2FA would not protect against add-ons/other programs stealing your sync key unless 2FA were required on every sync.
First: you have a few automatic backups of your collection on every machine and/or phone you sync to.
Additionally, I do export of my collection regularly and store it on Google Drive.
i use windows,
i use portable edition.
i will simply copy the whole folder onto google drive instead, with a timestamp.
ofcause, with the .bat that starts it.
I tried to figure out whether Anki currently supports 2FA, but all I found is a discussion of 2023 concerning 2FA. Would you mind telling me via this post whether Anki currently supports 2FA and where I could find information on how to activate/configure it?
Best regards,
Ursula
