Hi everyone, I’ve been asked to help improve the project’s task tracking and longer-term planning. I want to share something new and open up more of how we are working.

A few things to set expectations up front. This is a first, experimental version. We’re still figuring out what works, and we fully intend to improve it as we use it and as you tell us what would make it more useful.
The board is organized into quarterly iterations that together form a big-picture view of what we’re planning. There are three views:
- Current iteration: what we’re actively working on right now.
- Next iteration: what we’re planning for the next quarter.
- The board: the general view, also organized by iteration. Below the iterations you’ll find the issues that aren’t moved into a quarter yet. That’s where all the other issues live, and we keep pulling them from there into our iterations as we go. There are a lot of them, so we want to treat them with care and review them calmly rather than rushing through.
You’ll also see milestones: these group related issues toward a larger goal and are the quickest way to follow our progress at a glance. The individual issues are the granular detail underneath, so you can start from a milestone and dive into the specifics whenever you want.
We chose a quarterly view on purpose. A longer horizon lets us plan and track more meaningful work instead of slicing everything into short cycles. This board is a channel to communicate with you, not a race toward deadlines the team can’t sustain, so we’d rather show you the bigger picture than a granular, week-by-week checklist.
One important note: This is a planning tool, not a list of promises. The items and timeframes are our current estimates, and they will shift as priorities, findings, and capacity change. Please read it as “what we’re thinking about and working toward,” not “what is guaranteed to ship by date X.”
I see this as another way to communicate openly with you, and as an experiment we want to improve together. You’re users of this board too, especially if you contribute with a PR or open issues.
