whenever i use the shortcut ctrl+c and ctrl+v the image pasted looks something like this:
i have tried disabling add-ons, restarting the app and my laptop but the issue persists.
adding images after downloading them works, but i feel like it’s a long process
Which app are you using where Ctrl-C allows you to copy an image?
In the Chrome browser, for example, you’d right-click on an image and then (unless the website has disabled it) a popup menu appears and you can select “Copy Image” from the menu.
Edit: okay, I see that you can use Ctrl-C in Chrome, but that might also copy some caption text even if only the image appears to be highlighted in blue when you click and drag over it. For instance, in a page returned by image search in Google you will also get the caption text with Ctrl-C. Using “Copy Image” ensures that you only copy the image itself.

i copy paste by right clicking > copy and then use ctrl + v
this issue never occurred before
Usually this is related to what you’re picking up in your copy buffer.
