What do you think the reasons are why 4 button grading tends to be inconsistent?
- Is the use of hard more inconsistent than that of easy? As far as I see, we’ve just compared 2 vs. 4 buttons and don’t differentiate further.
- (How) is misuse of the hard button related to this topic?
- Should we expect a difference between people who have “Show next review time above answer buttons” enabled and those who have disabled it?
- How do deadlines (exams) affect button use? Perhaps people use the hard button to get a shorter interval not because the review was hard but because they want the card to reappear before a certain date – whereas they should rather use Set Due Date and filtered decks for such a purpose.
There might also be other reasons why people shy away from long intervals (another consequence of which is that they might set a maximum interval).
